This page is dedicated to lasting love: the only power capable of moving the cosmos itself.

When people are asked point-blank what they want most out of life, their answers tend to be all over the map: usually reflecting their concerns or desires of the moment.

But give those people plenty of time to think about it-- and lots of their answers may tend to converge to the same theme:

A true soul-mate. Someone they can care for with all of their heart for the rest of their lives-- and vice versa.

Or at least that's the answer most people would give-- that vast majority who have been unable to locate such a person themselves.

Indeed, this desire is so widespread and ubiquitous that a huge chunk of our media consists solely of songs and tales of such loves-- or attempts to attain them. Real or not! (Fantasies of such seem to seize our imaginations as often as the real thing).

And of all the love stories you might see, the very best seem to be those which not only succeed in being realized, but transcend their original aim; take the people involved to realms they never dreamed of before.

Below is my own such story. I hope you enjoy it!

  • Heartbreaker; You never know when or where you might meet 'the one'. Or how. I know I was sure surprised! Especially since I thought I was already in love with someone else!

  • A ghost of a chance; Five years after the events of Heartbreaker, I was doing my best to keep myself too busy to think about life in general. For the alternative just seemed too painful. The best remedy I could find to maintain such maximum daily distraction was to work part-time and attend college full-time year-round but for the summers-- and in the summers secretly use a self-built experimental aircraft to facilitate my own outlaw business venture. With all those chores and risks to juggle simultaneously, I had practically no time at all for sorrowful moods!

But there is such a thing as being too distracted. And so suddenly finding yourself knocking upon Death's door.

I'd done everything I could to make sure no one in the world knew where I was, or what I was doing during my summer 'vacations'. My success in that suddenly left me in dire straits one night, after a serious injury in the wilderness.

Luckily for me, there was one out-of-this-world party from whom I could not hide...

  • My first day in the afterlife; It turns out that some of us get a second chance after all. At least where love's concerned.

Upon my initial post-death awakening I couldn't recall the last third or so of my life: so I didn't know how many years had passed since the events of A ghost of a chance (apparently almost everyone suffers such partial amnesia immediately after death). But Bridget was there to help me sort things out!

  • The fearless heart; (This section still being written up) It seems even the after-life can be unfair-- and terrifying. And the love of your life can still surprise you, even after a matter of decades.

  • The heart of the beast; (This section still being written up) My final confrontation with my mighty supernatural nemesis is at last at hand! Will I be as strong as Bridget has been in her stand? Will my own strength of spirit be enough to rescue her? As she saved me before? And thereby free humanity's future from its present forced course towards unrelenting carnage and suffering?

One thing's for sure: I'm going to give it all I've got!

These stories were selected from a larger saga which can be accessed via this illustrated story index. Some of the other tales to be found there should satisfy most any reader with extra details regarding the people and events described here.
